Certification Renewal

Renewal requirements include: renewal fee and minimum 45 approved Continuing Education Units (CEUs) (minimum 22.5 from CHIME offerings).

Complete your renewal fee for CHCIO, CHISL, or CDH up to 6 months in advance of your renewal date.

Exam Retake

In the event that a candidate does not pass on their initial attempt at the examination, we strongly urge them to continue their studies and retake the exam. It bears noting that there is no waiting period to retake the exam for the second time. However, in the event that a candidate has failed twice, there is a six-month waiting period prior to their third attempt. This policy has been implemented with the goal of maintaining the security of the examination and allowing candidates adequate time to gain experience where needed. If a candidate fails to pass the examination within the six-month eligibility period, they will be required to reapply for certification. 

The Certified Digital Health UK Programme is designed for all healthcare leaders looking to or currently serving in the digital healthcare space.  This programme is designed to test one’s knowledge and understanding in the larger healthcare IT industry.  Based on one’s leadership experience and positional standing will make them eligible for accreditation testing.  Credentialing is based on meeting the requirements outlined, continuing educational credits, and passing the CDH level examination.

CHISL program enrollment for those with active HCISPP and/or CISSP certifications. Available through December 31, 2024.

Qualified candidates can enroll to become a Certified Healthcare Information Security Leader (CHISL) by demonstrating technical proficiency and forward-thinking leadership. A CHISL should be successful at leading people and managing the protection of networks on which the healthcare industry depends to deliver safe and efficient care. This program requires an enrollment fee and shortened exam to evaluate mastery of healthcare information security leadership and knowledge.

By enrolling in the CHCIO Program, you can earn the distinction of CHCIO, recognizing you for your knowledge and experience as a leader in healthcare IT.
