The CHIME Healthcare CIO Boot Camp - Digital is an intensive education program offered by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and taught by a faculty of healthcare thought leaders.
Combining presentations, small group discussions, case studies and interactive problem solving, participants learn the real-world skills necessary to become a successful digital health leader. CHIME is committed to giving every attendee a meaningful executive level experience throughout the course to maximize participation. Attendance in the Digital CIO Boot Camp ranges from 15-25 participants as well as 4-6 faculty and CHIME team members.
The virtual self-paced CHCIO Prep Course takes the learner on a deeper dive into the constructs of the CHCIO Examination. Students will learn from expert CHCIO leaders, experienced in the both the field and in the CHCIO program.
This course transforms studying into application, providing clear peer-led sessions for each domain area concentrating on critical topics and leaving the student with tangible insight.
The CHIME Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) program is the first certification program exclusively for CIOs and IT executives in the healthcare industry.
A CHCIO demonstrates the commitment, knowledge and experience required to master the core skills inherent to successful healthcare CIOs and IT executives. CHIME members who have been in a healthcare CIO or equivalent position for at least three years and want to enhance their professional stature are eligible to become certified.
Becoming a CHCIO makes it easy for you to distinguish yourself as a leader within the healthcare IT industry. The CHCIO Program is the first healthcare industry credential developed for CIOs by CIOs. By enrolling in the CHCIO Program, you can earn the distinction of CHCIO, recognizing you for your knowledge and experience as a leader in healthcare IT.

For the Boot Camp, the value of this course is directly connected to your participation. This course is highly collaborative, and will require some group work. For you to get the most value from this course, you will be expected to contribute to each week's activities, as well as all of the Course Assignments.
In order to obtain the Certificate of Completion, you must attend the first and last live sessions, view each module's content, as well as complete and submit each of the weekly Course Assignments.
For the prep course, learners are expected to take the Gap Assessment in order to help provide a more concrete understanding of their knowledge, skills, and experience on the CHCIO exam. This will showcase their strengths in various situations and settings as well as identify areas for further development and exposure.
Learners are expected to engage with the facilitator, materials, as well as participate in domain activities in order to strengthen areas of weakness and refresh pre-existing domain knowledge.
CHCIO designation earned based on fulfillment of application terms, passing of CHCIO Exam, 3+ years experience, and completion of 25 CEUs.
For the boot camp, your attendance during the following Live Sessions is required:
- The course opens January 2022
- Weekly Live Sessions - Thursday from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM ET via Zoom (Live sessions on weeks 1 and 6 will last an etra 30 min.)
This course will take approximately 36-48 hours over the course of 6 weeks
For the prep course, this course is a self-paced prep course.
Learners will have access to this course for 1 year from the time of enrollment.
Before enrolling in this boot camp course, at least 3 years of healthcare IT leadership is required.
Before enrolling in this prep course, CHIME membership and a 4-year degree is required.
Before enrolling inth CHCIO Program, CHIME Membership and 4-year degree is required.
Completion and aproval of the CHCIO Application, which will be available in the Ignite course after registration, is also required.
